The Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer / Day 2 "Undisguised"

Week 1 Sizing up the Enemy- Day 2 "Undisguised"
Author: Priscilla Shirer
Ephesian 6:10-19
Review by Kendria Thomas

Hey Sister2Sister,

Hope all is well with everyone!
First let me say that this book is so eye opening and so relevant today and will be for years to come!
As we continue reading in this first week, we learn that Satan is God's enemy and because we are in relationship with God, the devil becomes our enemy also. Here's what we need to know about our enemy-HE IS AFTER YOU! According to Shirer, we as believers either underestimate the devil or overestimate him. Either we are gravely unaware of the impact he has in the troublesome situations we face in our lives or we are aware, but fretful or uncertain on how to stand up against his attacks.
For me personally, I have underestimated Satan and his schemes. I think I really believed that I was exempt from harm until scary things started happening in my life, unexplainable things, dreadful things that I would have never given  Satan credit for being the real culprit. No, I would blame everyone else (flesh & blood) for my misery. However, the bible says that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavily places. (Ephesians 6:12) Here's my point, Satan has a posse and they are coming after me and you. What do we do? The bible tells us to STAND and STAND FIRM! Shirer says, "know that the devil and his schemes are strategic." Which means he literally has a plan to destroy you. Let me ask you this. If you knew that somebody was coming to harm you, would you not protect yourself? Wouldn't you be alert? Wouldn't you be on guard? If your answer is yes, its time for believers to do a littles digging around and find out all we can about our enemy. (See page 21)
Let's Chat: How have you underestimated or overestimated Satan's impact in your life?
According to Satan's names, how has he strategically impacted your situation?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, we thank you for your instruction because you love us and we are wise to follow you. Help us discover the power you have given to us that tears down strongholds. And as your word gives us light, please  help us see you better. We love you. In Jesus name. Amen!
